About the Project

The Motel One app was created to bring the brand’s distinctive design-driven hotel experience into the digital world.

It allows guests to easily book, manage, and personalize their stays — while staying connected through the beOne loyalty program.

Challenge

Booking behavior had shifted dramatically — users increasingly turned to third-party portals offering fast and frictionless experiences.

Motel One needed a dedicated app to strengthen its digital presence, increase direct bookings, and create a closer relationship with its most loyal guests.

My Role

As part of a cross-functional team of strategy, design, and development, I helped win the pitch and shape the product vision from the very beginning. In collaboration with the client, we defined the MVP scope and translated core features into tangible user flows, wireframes, and visual directions.

Together with UX and frontend teams, I worked on establishing a consistent design system that ensured scalability and a unified visual language across platforms. Our goal was to evolve Motel One’s strong physical brand identity into a digital experience that feels equally thoughtful, clear, and comfortable.

Design Vision

From the start, the guiding idea was to create a personal travel companion — an experience that captures the simplicity and signature comfort of the Motel One brand.

The concept translated into an intuitive app that helps users plan, book, and manage trips seamlessly, while highlighting the benefits of the beOne loyalty program.

Outcome

The result is a seamless, brand-driven mobile experience that redefines Motel One’s digital presence.
With optimized booking flows, personalized dashboards, and a clear, modular design language, the app delivers a simple yet engaging experience that strengthens customer loyalty and drives direct engagement.
