About the Project

Evie is a mobile health app created to support parents of newborns with severe heart conditions. The app digitizes an outdated and error-prone pen-and-paper workflow — transforming crucial daily measurements into a simple, guided, and reliable mobile experience.

Challenge

Parents were required to track vital health data manually: pulse rate, oxygen saturation, weight, temperature, and drinking volume. The process was time-consuming, stressful, and difficult to maintain accurately. The DHZB needed a secure, intuitive digital solution that simplified documentation and ensured doctors received consistent, structured data.

My Role

I joined the team during the design implementation phase, focusing primarily on translating the concept into a clear and accessible interface. I refined interaction patterns, created production-ready screens, and supported the handover to development to ensure a consistent and implementable UI across platforms.

Design Vision

We focused on a calm, clear, and reassuring look & feel — soft gradients, clean typography, and a reduced medical-yet-friendly palette. The interface is structured for fast, guided data entry and easy review, with simple interactions and clear visual hierarchy to support parents in stressful moments.

Outcome

The design vision focused on creating a calm, trustworthy companion for overwhelmed parents. We crafted a dashboard for recording daily measurements, a calendar for reviewing past data, and reminders to support routines. Once all information is captured, parents can share the data with their doctor via a pre-populated email draft — ensuring fast, frictionless communication.
